Female Trilobite Beetle (Duliticola sp., Lycidae)
The females of this odd genus stay in the larval form and are about 40–80 mm in length. They have a flat dark body with large scales over the head, resembling prehistoric trilobites, hence the informal name, “Trilobite beetle”. The males are much smaller, 8–9 mm, with a more beetle-like appearance.
